Don't know where to start with this one.....We're still recovering from yesterday's festivities. It was Christmas Light Switch on here in Rochester and some local business owners (us included) decided to jazz it up a bit!
We put the word out to our customers to see if anyone was interested in doing something a bit different this year, and we were overwhelmed with the response...don't know why we were surprised...our customers are the best!
The weather was beautiful.... cold but nice & sunny...the kettle was on all day.....a couple of pots of stew on the go...wonderfully festive! Our customers turned up trumps and really made the day, one to remember. We had members of the Dickens Fellowship...including Steve & Sue Martin and Mr & Mrs Norman Munn. Captain Jack Sparrow; in honour of whom all Fieldstaff Folk were dressed as pirates; Steampunks, many from 'Great Kentspectations', Lindy Hop and Modern Jazz Dancers from various groups, lead by the lovely Larraine Stevens & Kevin. Richard & Mai Lin Nairn were there doing great Caricatures outside the Information Centre and our friends over at Platoon we're visiting regularly and causing quite a stir down the road.
There were lots of other things going on in the High Street, but to be honest we didn't get the chance to go & see them with all the festivities right on our doorstep.
Have a look at these pictures...it was great fun and our huge thanks to everyone who was involved!
