It's not often we get invited to a bench warming party, but we were delighted to be involved in this one.
Our very dear friend Allan Roberts, well known in Rochester and a frequent visitor to our shop died in March at the age of 94. He loved sitting in the sun on his favorite bench and we'd always told him that one day we'd have it dedicated to him!
Anyway, when he died the good folk of Rochester clubbed together and last Thursday a crowd of us got together to christen the newly refurbished bench.
Happily the sun shone...he would have loved it....cheers Allan!!
Money left over from the Bench Fund has been given to the Royal Marsden Hospital
