Sweeps Festival

The Sweeps Festival is Fieldstaff's favourite event of the year in Rochester. Thousands of visitors flock to the town to see the Morris dancing sides, spot the sweeps and listen to the live music. Weather permitting we have a stall outside. Beer drinking is a popular pastime during this festival and we always have a big selection of tankards. A firm Sweeps Festival tradition is to come to Rochester and buy your tankard from Fieldstaff's. Here are a few pictures of some of our visitors over the weekend

We’ve packed our rails with some new gentlemen’s jackets. Harris Tweed, Daks, Clayton, Gurteen, Classic Burton, to name a few. Perfect for this muggy sweater-weather.

Today marks 47 years since the decimalisation! It was the biggest change in the British monetary system in over 1000 years. We have plenty of the old coins- great collectors pieces or souvenirs of a day out!

We love our local history here at Fieldstaff Antiques which is why we couldn’t resist this big batch of Rainham Pottery! Originally called Roeginga Pottery, thought to be a variation of the Anglo-Saxon word for Rainham, Rainham pottery was running from 1936 to 1975. The firm even patented their own specific shade of “Rainham Blue” which appeared on a lot of their, primarily domestic, pieces. First up we have this delightful 1960s tea set, and two dishes.
